Roger Allbright

In Loving Memory of

Roger Allbright

of Edmonton
Jun 9, 2014

A sword-collecting, fun-loving, devoted man of great integrity and firm beliefs, Roger died of a brain tumour. Surrounded by love, laughter, music and prayer, Roger’s life journey ended peacefully on June 9th, 2014 at 4:45 A.M.

Roger was a strong supporter of the Canadian Armed Forces, having proudly served 6 years as a Medic. He then became a journeyman cabinet maker before retiring from his professional life working for IBM until 2012. He was then able to devote his attention full time to mastering the wood lathe, which he did with flare. Many of us have been happy recipients of his projects.

Pre-deceased by his mother Daphne (1976), father Robert (2004), father-in-law Phil Medhurst (1979), and niece Susan Medhurst (2012).

Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Brenda, his much loved mother-in-law Alma Medhurst, and his loving family: Don and Heidi Medhurst (Paul, Marc, and Suzi and Eva, Rachel Medhurst and Pascal Drouin), Grant and Marie Medhurst (Mike, Sue, Zach and Genna Medhurst, Gord, Angela and Ella Medhurst, Karen), Phyllis Medhurst (Brian Batchelor and Becky Halliday, Doug Batchelor), Brian and Tammy Medhurst (Stephanie, Jessica and Sarah), Butch and Luisa Foster, and extended family in England, British Columbia and Alberta. He also leaves many good friends, especially his "brothers from other mothers" Dave Gow (Barb) and Wayne Hage (Lil) and last but not least his 4-legged buddy Tazim.

Read a good book, watch Dr. Who or Monty Python, play a good or a bad game of Euchre, raise a glass of Scotch, and remember Roger.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 13th at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity United Church, 8810 Meadowlark Road. If desired, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders.

"And, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death."
