In Loving Memory of

Cornelia (Corrie) Verhagen

of Sturgeon County
Apr 4, 2013

It is with sad hearts that the family announces the passing of Cornelia (Corrie) Verhagen at the age of 90 years, yet we rejoice in that she has gone home to glory with her Lord and Saviour.

Corrie’s life was marked by her love and devotion to her Lord and to her family. Her motto was "to change the world, one smile at a time" and all that knew Corrie felt the light and the warmth that she emanated. She enjoyed painting, knitting, and singing, and took great pleasure in spending time with those who visited with her.

Corrie will be lovingly remembered by her cherished daughters, Deb (Ed) Dover and Monica (Tony) Oudenaarden; her grandchildren, Joanne (Corey), Mark (Kristina), Braeden, Saskia, Jessica, Becca, Lisa (Lee), Tamara, Jordan, and Niki; her great-grandchildren, Sharla, Chad and Isaac; her ‘adopted daughter’ Yvonne Bush; siblings, Jenny, Koos, Leny and Pol; Pat Verhagen and other dear family members and friends.

Corrie was predeceased by her husband, Gerry and sons, John and Robert.

The interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 16310 Stony Plain Rd, Edmonton at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013, followed by a Celebration Service of Corrie’s life, which will be held at St. Albert Christian Reformed Church, 12 Gate Avenue at 2:00 pm.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the staff who were so kind and took great care for her at the Youville Home in St. Albert, as well as Dr. Bell and his staff.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Corrie can be made to Hope for the Nations, which supports the education of needy children in Liberia, 101 – 1865 Dilworth Drive, Suite 342, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9T1.
