A gentle, proud man and life-long resident of Edmonton

Born to Sven and Ellen (Billsten) Thorsell in New Norway, Alberta, May 31, 1920. Died in Edmonton, Alberta, March 12, 2013

Devoted husband of the late Audrey (nee Ladell) Thorsell; father of David (Margaret) of Ashton, Ontario; uncle to Pat (Craig) Herbert; grandfather of Karen (Hugh) Wiggins, Laura (Jamie) Thorsell, and Steve (Cindy) Thorsell; great-grandfather of six. Survived by his brother Don (Margaret); his sisters Verle (Gordon) Dickau, Dorothy (the late Bill) Allan, and Phyllis Anderson. Predeceased by his brothers Arnold (the late Irene), Stan (Karen), Maynard (Wilma), and by Audrey’s family Irene (Alex) Sollanych and Arthur (Lucille) Ladell.

A loving and loved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, including Vanessa (Corey) Wilson, Kristine Herbert, Pat (Andre) Goulet, Lori (Jim) Steinhauer, John Dickau, Robert Dickau, Shirley (Jim) Duncan, the late Gordon (Joan and Lyle), and Alan (Eduarda) Thorsell.

A special thank-you to his lifelong friends and neighbours Ron and Jean Lawson, Ray and Georgina Thurgood, and Bill and Lynn Welk.

A celebration of Loren’s life will be held at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
