Peter Harcourt

Jul 13, 1941 - Sep 1, 2011

Grandpa, father, loving husband, rugby player, legacy builder, entrepreneur, headhunter, loyal friend, avid reader, story teller, bubble blower, tease, scotch lover, charmer, self-declared Irishman, grizzly bear, softie, Rotarian, and Pigeon Lake fixture Peter Harcourt died suddenly on September 1, 2011. Raised in Brampton, Ontario, Peter spent most of his life in Edmonton. He leaves us as a dedicated family man with a powerful love for his wife Judy, his kids, his grandchildren, and Peter and Judy's many close friends and family members. Peter was a business founder and a leader in the rugby world who was inducted into the Edmonton Rugby Union Hall of Fame as a Builder in 2003. Peter is survived by his wife, Judy; son Rick (Kathy); daughter Kristy (Christine); grandchildren Joshua and Jenny; mother Peggy Armstrong; sister Cindy Delage; the extended Delage, Simons and Powell families and his beloved Daschund Clancy. He was predeceased by his birth mother Frances and his father Dick. A celebration of Peter's life will take place at Ellerslie Rugby Park (where else?), 110 Street and Ellerslie Road, on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Rotary Foundation or the Make A Wish Foundation (on behalf of the Leprechaun Tigers Rugby Club) to help make a difference in the lives of others.
