With heavy hearts, we the family of Laurie Janet Ann Kielczewski announce her passing Monday, August 8, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Laurie was born to Paul and Margaret on October 7, 1953 in Fort Frances, Ont. It was there she began her love for the great outdoors and her passion for fishing. She graduated from High School in 1972, and then a few years later graduated from Confederation College Social Service program with honors in Thunder Bay. Laurie was employed with the city of Thunder Bay until moving to Edmonton in 1995. She started work with the Government of Alberta in 1997. She gained many beloved co-workers and great friends. Laurie’s passion in life was her family, friends, and her love for camping and fishing. Some of her most cherished time was spent at Canyon Creek with great friends, family, and you would always see Laurie with a fishing rod in hand. She is in every thought of her three daughters; Stacey (Trevor), Riley, (BF) and Kelly (Shane). Also to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren; Alyssa, Dereck, Shelby, Meghan, Terri-Lynn, and Tyler, as well as her partner of 20 years, Rick Sutherland, siblings; Pat (Vera), Keith (Elizabeth), Gail (Bill) Shields, Raymond (Deeann), Bonnie (Bernie) Lamoges, Shawn, Deeder, soul sister Trudy Christan and Valerie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that all held a special place in her heart. Laurie was predeceased by her parents Paul and Margaret Kielczewski, sister Barb, brothers; Kevin, Leon, Harvey, and brother in law, Terry. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all that knew her.
