In Loving Memory of

Allan Maloney

of St. Albert
Mar 28, 1949 - May 29, 2011

On Sunday, May 29, 2011, longtime St. Albert resident, Dr. Allan Maloney, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Allan was born in St. Albert in 1941, and spent his youth skating on and swimming in the Sturgeon River, and excelled at playing numerous sports. After graduation from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Allan practiced as a chiropractor in B.C. for several years before returning to his St. Albert roots. From 1986 until his retirement in 2000, he cared for patients at his clinic in Morinville. In retirement, his favorite pastimes included spending time at Lac Ste. Anne with family and friends, card nights, watching Oilers and Eskimo games, and (more than anything) spending time with his kids and grandkids. Allan suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis for 30 years, but never let it affect his positive spirit. He leaves to treasure his beloved memory, Irene, his loving wife of 43 years; his sons Kevin (Carol), Allan Jr. (Christine), Sean (Laura); six wonderful grandchildren, Griffin, Evan, Erin, Davis, Claire and Whitney; his brother Jack; sisters Margaret Victoor, and Nan (Val) LePage; mother-in-law Clarice Kremer; brothers-in-law Alphonse (Susan) Kremer, Leon "Coco" Kremer, and Laurier (Joanne) Kremer; sister-in-law Cecile (Robert) LeBlanc; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as a large group of lifelong friends. Allan was predeceased by his parents William and Annie Maloney, sisters Isabel Wilson and Eileen Vandall, and one nephew Michael Victoor. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday June 2, 2011 at Connelly-McKinley/Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive in St. Albert A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Holy Family Parish, 75 Poirier Avenue in St. Albert, officiated by Allan’s cousin Fr. Don MacDonald ofm, and Allan’s parish priest Fr. Mitch Fidyka. A special thank you to Allan’s longtime physician Dr. Glubish, and Dr. Chyczij and the caring medical team at Grey Nuns hospital.
