In Loving Memory of

Paul Vieville

of Edmonton
Mar 25, 2024

It is with sadness and much love that the family of Paul, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, announces his passing on March 25, 2024, at the age of 77 years.

Paul will be lovingly remembered by his partner of 8 years, Maureen Nicol; children: Lorry Hebert (Ritchie), Tony Vieville (Sandy), Liz-Ann Reid (Phil), Shawna Fortier, Shannon Vieville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Linda), Eugene (Sandy); sister, Doris; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Fortunat and Leontine; brother, Rene Vieville; and granddaughter, Amanda Fortier.

Paul started his career driving gravel trucks in Winnipeg. He later moved to Edmonton in 1969, where he drove transport trucks for NIC, and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Standard General Construction. Opportunity opened doors at Sterling Crane, where he started as a truck driver, then trained to become a crane operator. This led Paul to Jo-Ann Trucking, ultimately returning to Sterling Crane and finishing his career at Northern Crane. Paul worked very hard to acquire the skills that he had as a crane operator and was put to the test working extremely dangerous jobs. His most challenging job would be the Lodge Pole blowout.

Paul enjoyed watching curling, wrestling, car races, football, and Bruce Lee movies, as well as going to antique car shows, boating, and building amazing bonfires while camping with his children and grandchildren. He loved listening to music and dancing any chance we got together.

Paul moved to Antler Lake, where he loved the peace and quiet. He spent countless hours watching the wildlife on the lake and his two favorite chipmunks bouncing from tree to tree. He always had the biggest bonfires in the backyard and I'm sure the neighbors could see the reflection on the lake. He truly enjoyed all the community had to offer over the last 20 years.
