In Loving Memory of

Mary Isabel Pemberton

(Maiden: McLeod)

Mary Pemberton, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 30th. She was born in Edmonton, the 2nd child of Rev. Dr. Kenneth and Winifred McLeod. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John; siblings, Audrey and Kenneth; and daughter-in-law, Susan.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Ken (Jean), John, and Kathleen (Steven); beloved grandchildren, Kelly, and Thomas; and the great-grandchildren whom she adored: Georgia, Carter, Oliver, Quinton, and Felicity.

Mom was a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Minburn prior to her marriage. She spent a lifetime volunteering for numerous organizations and promoting the Arts. As a long-time member of the PEO Sisterhood, she contributed to the education of women. She developed a passion for painting, and after raising her family, she enjoyed many summers travelling Alberta in her camper painting landscapes. Later in life she became an avid bridge player.

Cremation has taken place to be followed by Private interment at Westlawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ward 54 at the Royal Alexandria Hospital and the Norwood Palliative Hospice for their care and compassion.
