Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Gregory James Bowes of Neilburg, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 6, 2022 at the age of 70 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Darlene Bowes; children, Scott (Dana) Bowes, Marty Bowes (Nora Roberts); grandchildren, Kacie and Jonah Bowes (and their mother, Julie), Dexter and Jett Bowes and Lily Roberts; sisters in law, Joan Sherling, and Dale (John) Herbert; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Greg was predeceased by his parents, Wilbert and Wilma Bowes; brother, Jerry Bowes and sister-in-law, Heidi Bowes.

Greg was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan on July 11th 1952. He met Dar in 1973 where they lived in Senlac, Saskatchewan for 5 years before moving to Neilburg, Saskatchewan in 1980. They spent the majority of their married life in Neilburg before finally moving to Edmonton, Alberta in 2016.

Greg was a lifelong volunteer in Neilburg. He was on the Fire Department for 28 years, worked on the Ambulance, Rec Board, Minor Hockey, Town Council, Kinsmen and the Legion. He loved coaching his kids in all sports and well as playing them himself. In 2013 Greg was awarded the Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation Volunteer of the Year.

Greg's Celebration of life will be held in the Neilburg Community Hall, SK on December 16th at 2 pm.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Pilgrims Hospice, where Greg spent his final days, for their care and compassion. This is truly a world class facility and we can't thank the staff members and board members enough for creating such an unbelievable environment for our family.
