Ross Wilson Patchell

In Loving Memory of

Ross Wilson Patchell

Jun 23, 1927 - May 7, 2022

With heavy hearts, we announce that Ross passed away on May 7, 2022, at the age of 94. He was predeceased in January by Betty, who he shared a happy 72 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, Graham, Karen Young, Lloyd (Peggy), and Elaine Jones (David); grandchildren, Darby, Scott, Mark, Melanie, Jason, and Angela; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

Ross was easy going, kind, and generous. His positive attitude and quiet dignity touched us all. We will miss his sense of humour, his curiosity and enthusiasm for life.

Ross was raised in Broadacres, Saskatchewan, on the family farm and he moved to Edmonton with Betty after they married in 1949. He worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at International Harvester Corporation where he became the Service Manager. Near retirement he bought a farm near Holden with his son Graham where he grain farmed and kept bees.

He led an adventurous outdoor life of biking, golfing, skating, and hiking. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Seniors Ski Club until he was 86 years of age. He spent summers camping and winters skiing in the Rockies with his family.

A Celebration of Life for Ross and Betty will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church, 9915 - 148 Street, Edmonton.

If you can't join us in person, a livestream of the service will be available on the St. Andrew's United Church website and it will be recorded on their YouTube channel.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the bissellcentre.org.
