In Loving Memory of

Geraldine Harvey

(Maiden: Campbell)
of Edmonton
Mar 11, 2019

On March 11, 2019, at the age of 92, Geraldine (Gerry) Harvey passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord. Her kind and gentle spirit will be vividly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her, especially by her husband of 66 years, Fred; her children, Gordon (Susanna), Laura (Doug), and Karen (David); her six grandchildren, Jordon, Spencer, Mikko, Mitchell, Graham, and Maija; her nieces and nephews in the Toller family; and her unofficial daughter, Sue Zukiwsky.

Born in Lloydminster, Alberta, Gerry grew up on a homestead farm during the depression years and attended a one-room schoolhouse. After the untimely death of her father, George (of Durness, Scotland) when Gerry was 13, she and her mother, Gladys (of Bath Easton, England) stayed on the farm until Gerry moved into Lloydminster for high school, eventually training as a nurse at the University of Alberta, where she met Fred, who was studying Civil Engineering, and to whom she was married in 1952.

Once her children were in school, Gerry returned to nursing. All the while she was involved in church and community volunteer-work, which she and Fred continued as a retired couple, also travelling widely and ceaselessly supporting the lives of their children and grandchildren.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff of the Edmonton General Continuing-Care Center unit 4A/B, to Shepherd’s Care at Home, and to Marianna Leung.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 20 at 2:00, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 10127-145 Street NW, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories, 14925 111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 2P6 or to the Edmonton General Continuing-Care Center, Room 3C60, 11111 Jasper Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, T5K 0L4.
