Beloved Wife, Mother, Nanna/Nan, Great-Nanna/Neena, Friend and Mentor, Norma, passed away in Edmonton on Christmas morning 2017 after a long and rich life.

Born in Edmonton in 1926 to a pioneering couple with roots in Elgin, ON, Norma grew up on a family farm near Poplar Lake, AB where she developed the generosity of spirit, integrity, love of music, and skills that she would carry throughout her lifetime. She graduated from the University of Alberta (’48) and married Alan Robertson (dec) in 1949 with whom she shared 57 adventurous and fulfilling years.

A longtime member of Knox-Metropolitan United Church, Norma is survived by her 6 children, Beth (Ted) Pysyk, John (Robin), Sheila (Steve) Vigor, Anne (Kelly) Scott, Neil (Carmen Deac) and Lesley; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as a rich web of extended family and friends including her oldest and dearest friend, Phyllis Fowler. She will be long remembered as a devoted, gracious and kind person who gave abundant love, wisdom and support to her family, friends and community throughout her life. Oh how we will miss her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Southminster - Steinhauer United Church, 10740 - 19 Avenue NW, Edmonton.
