Klaas Klooster

Jun 26, 1954 - Nov 5, 2017

Scripture Galatians 6:10 "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people"

Klaas Klooster peacefully passed away at home on November 5, 2017 surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Joanne of 40 years, along with his 7 children; Jodie (Josh) Schumacher - Josiah, Edyn, Nevaeh, Caleb, Ava, Elisse ; Andrea Simpson - Chloe, Emily; Kevin Klooster - Jiawna, Jikoda; David (Patrice) Klooster - Addison; Hailey Klooster, Carissa Klooster, and Jade Klooster.

Klaas Klooster was born June 26, 1954, in Edmonton, Alberta to Klaas and Roelie Klooster. He was survived by his 7 siblings and predeceased by Fred Klooster.

Klaas lived in many different places including Holland, Coaldale AB, Chilliwack BC, Ponoka AB, Medicine Hat AB, Beaumont AB, and lastly Sherwood Park AB. His adventurous nature has crossed his path with lives of many who share in our sadness of his loss.

Klaas’ entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic lead him to do many things including grocery retail/delivery, ministry, founder of the Champion’s Centre, and finally public transportation where he found great joy in driving for S.C.T. But no matter where he was or what he was doing Klaas’ heart was always focused on serving God and serving others.

To those who knew him well he will always be remembered for his tremendous compassion and a heart that was open to the needs of others. He had a laugh that could capture a room and a sense of humour that was enjoyed by many. Klaas loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could.

Klaas loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith is what made him strong and courageous, especially in this last year when he faced his biggest trial of all. Throughout his suffering, Klaas has had hope and peace knowing his future is secure in heaven. Klaas’ life and death were a testimony of God’s amazing love and grace.
