Obituary

Eleanor McCullough

In Loving Memory of

Eleanor McCullough

of Edmonton, Alberta
Jan 12, 1932 - Jan 20, 2017

Eleanor McCullough passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Edmonton. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Wayne McCullough (1996); and her mother and father May and Wilfred Laderoute.

She is survived by her 5 children: Lynne (Bev) Bird, Gail (Dennis) Mandrusiak, Lana (Larry) Dakin, Reegan (Alison) McCullough and Kandis (Danny) Gorham.

Eleanor was a devoted homemaker whose life unfolded with her children, with Wayne through his peripatetic career and as a devoted volunteer in community work. Our mother was a fabulous cook, loved gardening, writing, entertaining and was active in the Royal Purple, Anglican Church and several charitable initiatives. She loved to read and was always current on world events and politics. Her family tree includes 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

After Wayne's passing, she rebuilt her life and in addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed friends, became an avid walker and photographer of Edmonton's river valley. Moreover, our mother had a huge interest in passing on whatever skills and knowledge she had acquired and proudly earned the cognomen the "Professor".

A big thank you to the wonderful nursing and medical staff at St Michael's Health Group.

Those wishing to view may do so one hour prior to the Funeral Service celebrating the life of Eleanor which will be held at the Foster & McGarvey Downtown Chapel (10011-114 Street, Edmonton), on Thursday January 26, 2017 at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michael's Health Group care of Friends of St. Michael's Society of Edmonton who are volunteering their time unselfishly to enhance the quality of life of the residents.
