Laura Hannett

(Maiden: Holoboff)
of Edmonton
Feb 6, 1947 - Dec 9, 2016

The family of Laura Hannett of Edmonton is saddened to announce her passing after a long battle with Non Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis on December 9, 2016, at the age of 69 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Don; daughters, Shannon (Geoff) Abell, Christina Kisling, Amy Hannett, and Kelley Hannett (Mike); grandchildren, Sarah and Nick Abell, and Austin and Kyla Hannett. She will also be missed by her sister, Verna Haverlends; nephews, Wade (Rose) Johnson, and Troy Johnson; as well as many other family and friends.

Laura was raised in Nanton, AB before moving to Calgary and earning her Bachelor of Social Work degree. She then enjoyed living throughout the province before travelling to Ventura, CA and Southfield, MI with Don. They eventually returned to Edmonton, AB to be closer to family. She loved her family and friends and her cats. She also had a passion for gardening, cooking, enjoying music, providing comfort as a chaplain and was deeply spiritual.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for all the exceptional care and compassion shown to Laura.

In keeping with Laura's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the summer when the roses are blooming.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, or to the Memorial Society of Edmonton and District (MSED).
