On November 28, 2016, Dorothy passed away at the age of 90. She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Ted; son Gordon (Natalie); daughter Judy (Tony); grandchildren David, Kevin and Sarah; as well as extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas; mother, Catherine; and brother, Thomas Jr.

Dorothy was born and raised in Winnipeg. She moved to Calgary in the early 50’s. She met Ted on a badminton court and they married in 1954. Dorothy and Ted moved to Edmonton in 1960 where they raised their children Gordon and Judy. Dorothy was a lifelong learner and in 1984 obtained her Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Alberta.

Dorothy loved to read, she enjoyed her garden, bridge and golf. She was a long time member of the Mayfair Golf Club and the Royal Glenora. Her dogs held a special place in her heart, she especially enjoyed their daily walks in the river valley. She enjoyed travelling and after Ted retired they took trips every year travelling worldwide from the Canadian Artic to Antarctica and many places in-between.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 10 at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church located at 8420-145 Street.
