Glen Harrington passed away peacefully at the age of 75 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 53 years and best friend, Sandra; sons: Daryl (Diane), and Murray (Susan Iskiw); grandchildren: Thomas, Jane, Max, Jillian, and Clarke.

Glen was born in Regina, Saskatchewan while his father was serving overseas in World War II. They returned to West Vancouver in 1943 where he was raised with his siblings, Carol, Dennis (Patricia), Howard (Barb), Allan (Mary), Patrick (Judy), and Timothy (Jo-Ann). He moved to Edmonton and joined the Edmonton City Police Department in 1961 and met his future wife and life-long companion, Sandra. Glen attained the rank of Superintendent before retiring in 1997. Glen and Sandra enjoyed their retirement years travelling in their motorhome, fishing, camping, golfing, skiing, going to Vancouver Island and spending time with their grandchildren, family and many friends.

A Celebration of Glen’s life will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Albert Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11 Glenview Crescent, St. Albert, Alberta.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, the Sturgeon Community Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their tremendous care and compassion.
