William John &quotJack" Kent

In Loving Memory of

William John "Jack" Kent

of Edmonton
Oct 6, 1925 - Jan 12, 2016

The flag flies at half-mast for Jack Kent who left us on the 12th of January, 2016 at the age of 90.

Predeceased by his brother, Hugh (Shirley), Jack leaves to mourn Denise, his wife of 68 years, brothers: Mac (Sheila), and Jim (Shirley); sons: Roger (Julia), and Gerry (Mary); special daughter, Jody / Beth; granddaughters: Danielle, Kathy, and Julia Kent; grandsons: Alexander and Keith Kent; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Jack enlisted in 1943, age 17, in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After 30 years of service to his country, Jack returned home with Denise to farm on the ancestral farmstead near Marwayne, Alberta.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff, especially the doctor, nurses, and dedicated care givers at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans for their compassionate and most respectful care.

The motto of the RCAF, "Per Ardua ad Astra", "Through Adversity to the Stars" is an apt tribute to the life and memory of this veteran airman.

A burial will be held at a later date.

Should one wish to donate in Jack’s memory, please support the Salvation Army Northern Alberta / NWT Division, 9618-101A Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5H 0C7, or a charity of your choice.
