Condolences

In Loving Memory of

Robert Smith

of Edmonton
Apr 8, 1931 - Mar 15, 2014

Joanne and I were saddened to hear of your dad's passing. Mom was always so close to your folks and we all had the pleasure of their company on many occasions. Unfortunately, we both work shift work and could not attend the service on Saturday. Our thoughts were and remain with the whole Smith clan during this difficult time.

Dear Family Members, I have many, many wonderful memories of Bob. We worked together for many years in the Child Welfare system. One of the real pioneers, Bob always lead with his heart when it came to making the right decision on behalf of children. Terrific sense of humour as you know. We all spent many a fun moment bellowing out the tunes as Bob tickled the ivories. Child Welfare can be a very difficult area of social work practice. It relies on a few "lifers" to provide a solid foundation for this important work. Bob was one of those stalwarts. Over the years both Bob and Jean became very dear friends. My sincerest condolences to all family members. Thanks for sharing Bob with us for those many years. Denis Bell

Bob was a real fine man. He worked on behalf of children in care and showed much empathy and compassion for people who needed someone to stand up for their needs. He had a great sense of humour and would go well beyond the call of duty to be of help. He was one of the finest people I had the chance to work with. My heart goes out to all of Bob's family and friends in their time of loss and grief
