Condolences

Reid Susan Carol

In Loving Memory of

Susan Carol Reid

(Maiden: Weston)
of Edmonton
Jan 23, 1931 - Nov 21, 2022

I knew Dave and Carol from about 2001 onward. Though they were of a different generation to me, they were thoughtful and kind friends. Dave and I often used to get together at the Faculty Club for a glass of wine on Fridays, and my wife and I had many meals with them. After Dave died in 2006, my wife and I went to see Carol a few times, usually going to the nearby restaurant (formerly run by friends of theirs) and originally Greek. After she left her home, I lost contact with her and had been trying to locate her. I am so sorry she has passed but she had a very full and active life. I will remember her poise and grace, and her sense of humour. RIP.
posted by David MARPLES : I met David first through another medical contact, Dr. Ernest McCoy, as both had worked in Ukraine for the Chernobyl project. Through David, of course, I soon met Carol. Our common link was the University of Alberta, where I still teach currently. : Apr 13, 2023

Our condolences to the family of Carol Reid. We(our family lived next door to Dave and Carol in Lendrum area of Edmonton) prior to my father being transferred to Calgary in the early 70s. After my father passed away Mom and Carol kept in touch on a regular basis until Mom passed in 2018. Mom had considered Carol a dear friend. I phoned Carol with the news and she had told me stories that I did not even know. We are so glad that we were able to have tea with Carol in 2019 when we were up for a visit. One funny story with living next door to Dave & Carol.... My brother and I would often fight to see who could shovel their walk first, as quite often we would receive $5 for the shovelling effort. Large sum of money back in late 60s. We will miss the occasional phone chats. A very dear special lady! Neil & Heather McLeod-Calgary

Carol was a dear friend and neighbour. We went to school together from grade one to twelve. You would see a very active Carol joining in many school functions. Through the years we remained close and I will miss her a great deal.
