Hi Berend To my friend in your time of loss. Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Moms are important and special people. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that your grief is shared by so many. Your mom will be sorely missed. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. When I saw Jennie's obituary in the Edmonton Journal, my first thought was about her kindness to me many years ago when I began my career as a nursing educator at Grant MacEwan Community College, now MacEwan University. Her thoughts, writings and practice in mental health care nursing were not only guides for working with patients, but colleagues as well. She treated others openly, honestly and often with a smile and gentle laughter to make her point. While I lost touch with her over the years, I am grateful for the memories of her positive influence on me and the lives of many others.

I had the privilege of teaching with Jenny at Grant MacEwan. I remember her calm, warm manner with faculty and students. Her wisdom will be remembered by her students. My condolences.

I have fond memories of Jennie going back to the time when we both worked at Grant MacEwan and then occasionally met on the LRT as she travelled to SAGE. She was always a delight to see. My condolences to her sons--hers was a life well-lived, indeed!
