Dear Melanie, Eric, Miranda and Family, We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your Father and Grandfather. He had a special place in our hearts, as did your Mother. They were such a sweet couple. Always a big smile and a heartfelt greeting each time we saw them. Your Dad always had a joke to tell us. My boys loved hearing them. We'd always walk away laughing and smiling. He was a truly wonderful man and they were wonderful neighbours to our parents. Our hearts are with you at this difficult time. Our love to all of you. Carol, Dave, Bryce and Nolan Johnston

Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Ian, father and grandfather. The loss of a gentle man, a joyful loving spirit, and a friend has made the world a sadder and smaller place. We miss living next to your parents and always will. With love from us to you and your family.

It was a pleasure to have been Ian and Chandraâ??s pastor at Braemar. Their love for people and capacity to make sure those around them felt like the most important people in the room is rarely matched. Four things come to mind when I think of my relationship with Ian - his clear diction, his spontaneous puns, his active lifestyle and regular walks with John Turnbull, and his appreciation for the family of God. My prayer Melanie and family is that you will be comforted in your loss and will know the hope of Jesus Christ in this time.

Melanie and Family: Helen and I remember your father as a true gentlemen, wonderful sense of humor and loved his family very much. It was honor to know both your father and mother. Don and Helen Cochrane

Dear Melanie, Eric, Miranda and Cam, We were saddened to read of your dad's passing in the Journal. What a delightful guy he was! It is hard to picture Ian without a smile on his face and a fresh joke up his sleeve. He was a gentle, considerate and caring man. Our lives were warmly enriched by our contact with Ian and Chandra over these many years. With sincere sympathy and warm regards, Barb, Gerry and Family
