We will miss Helen. She was always so kind, gracious, and welcoming. I loved her laugh. Even though we didn't spend a lot of time together recently, we often talk about how much we enjoyed being your neighbours. Our sincere and deep felt condolences to you, Deborah, Deidre, Jacqueline and families.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Helen's passing. I have so many fond remembrances of Helen during my time at the Faculty of Business. She was always there for Stuart and for the departmental members before, during and after his tenure as departmental chair. Helen was warm, understanding and an exceptional host. I never knew Helen as a nurse but I can't imagine patients being in better hands. My thoughts and prayers are with Stuart and her family at this difficult time..

Stuart, Debbie, Deidre and Jacquie - our sympathy and thoughts are with you. Although it is now almost 40 years since we left Edmonton, the memories of Helen leading the way at the annual New Years Eve festivities at the Faculty Club and the 'dressing up' parties in the basement at Hardisty Drive are still very live in our memory. She was a great wife and mother and a very good friend to us. Best wishes Di and Mike

It is with great deal of sadness being advised of Helen?s passing. Although we have not been in close contact the past ten years but we shared a very special time during our 2011 Cunard cruise. The special time each evening at dinner sharing stories and laughter was extraordinary and will always be etched in our memory forever. We remember Helen as the quiet and classy lady, highly articulate, funny, friendly and quite a dancing partner for Stuart. Our sincere condolences to the McFadyen families knowing that our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

Stuart and family, Please accept my heart felt sympathy for your loss. I remember vividly that Helen was a friendly, welcoming person when we became acquainted in Vancouver in the 60?s. She was so very kind to me at a time that I didn?t know too many people in the city. She certainly will be much missed. Love and best wishes, Barb

I was so very saddened to hear of the passing away of Helen. I and my husband (now passed away) have known Stuart and Helen for many decades and, even though we lived at different ends of the country, we enjoyed the odd visit over the years. We always looked forward to hearing from them at Christmas time with news of their annual adventures. Lots of good memories to carry you through this difficult time of loss. Stuart, you and your daughters and their families have lost a very dear soul in a wife, mother and grandmother. Please accept my sincere condolences. Rest in peace, dear Helen
