Obituary
Jantina (Tina) Noot (nee Werkman), our beloved mother, oma, great oma
went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2023, at the age of 102.
Jantina was born in the Netherlands on December 13, 1920, and was married to our father, Krijn (Ken) Noot on August 8, 1945. They immigrated to Canada in 1952, with three young children – another three were born in Canada.
Mom was predeceased by infant grandson, Jeffrey Noot, and by our dad, who passed away in 1995. After that, mom lived for many years at Summit Village, then at McQueen Place and for the past 22 months, she lived at Our Parent’s Home.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her six children, Harry (Grace) Noot, Betty Adam, Walter (Diana) Noot, Anita (Tony) Laan, Ed (Harriet) Noot and Don (Sandy) Noot; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; relatives in the Netherlands and friends. Although dementia impacted her life for the last number of years, our mom never lost her strong Christian faith, her infectious smile, her sense of humor, her fierce love for her family, and her attitude of gratitude.
We are immensely grateful to Dr. Otto and the entire staff at Our Parent’s Home, who showed her love and compassion.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, February 21, at Providence Canadian Reformed Church, 12905-122 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta. Rev. M. ten Haaf will officiate. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9X1Gc5WBEs
A private family interment will take place. As mom had a special fondness in her heart for people with disabilities, donations in her memory may be made to Rehoboth Christian Ministries.
